This guide shows you how to configure your cPanel email in Microsoft outlook email client. This guide applies for Microsoft 365, Outlook 2019, 2021 and 2024. Screenshots were taken from Outlook 2021.
1. Install and activate the Microsoft Office package.
2. Open Microsoft Outlook application
3. Click File in the top left corner.
4. Click Add Account to proceed.
5. Enter your Email address (we have used user@yourdomain.tld as the example here). Then click Advanced options and select Let me set up my account manually.
After that, click Connect button to proceed to the next step.
6. Select IMAP option.
If you prefer POP, you can skip the next steps and start from 10th step. We recommend IMAP over POP as POP is considered outdated and it does not sync emails across devices.
7. Fill out below settings.
Incoming mail server – “mail.yourdomain.tld” or the Hostname (we have provided this in the product email that we have sent once enabled the cPanel.)
Port – 993
Encryption method – SSL/TLS
Outgoing mail server – “mail.yourdomain.tld” or the Hostname
Port – 465
Encryption method – SSL/TLS
· Replace “yourdomain.tld” with your actual domain.
· If “mail.yourdomain.tld” gives you errors, use Hostname instead of “mail. yourdomain.tld”
Then, click Next button.
8. Enter your Email Password and click Connect.
9. If all settings are correct, your account gets added to the outlook and you can see below window. Click Done to finish the process.
10. If you have selected POP in the 6th step, go through the instructions below.
Incoming mail server – “mail.yourdomain.tld” or the Hostname (we have provided this in the product email that we have sent once enabled the cPanel.)
Port – 995
Select This server requires an encryption connection
Encryption method – SSL/TLS
Outgoing mail server – “mail.yourdomain.tld” or the Hostname
Port – 465
Encryption method – SSL/TLS
· Replace “yourdomain.tld” with your actual domain.
· If “mail.yourdomain.tld” gives you errors, use Hostname instead of “mail. yourdomain.tld”
Then, click Next button.
11. If all settings are correct, your account gets added to the outlook and you can see below window. Click Done to finish the process.
12. Since POP configuration deletes received emails from server space, you can specify when to delete emails from the server. For that, refer to the instructions below.
Go to File >> Account Settings >> Account name and Sync Settings
Under the Mail settings, set the number of days to keep emails in the server and click Next to Update the settings.
